New album “Neon Skies & Different Highs” out April 19

Belgian alternative blues rock band Boogie Beasts will release a new album on 19 April 2024. It will be their fourth studio album, and their fifth in total. According to the members, it will also be their most eclectic one yet. Once again, the Beasts translate their deep love for raw blues into a sound of their own, only this time additionally inspired by gospel, soul, desert blues & rock, rhythm & blues, psychedelia and even a touch of hip-hop. The band also assigned a bigger role to producer Koenraad Foesters, who’s practically acting as a fifth band member. The result is a very groovy record full of passion and emotion, and with a very contemporary sound.

First single “Cold Ways”

Boogie Beasts: “This is one of the last songs we wrote for “Neon Skies & Different Highs”. Patrick sent us a demo he had recorded at home. The track combines various influences ranging from Tuareg music and desert blues to contemporary bands such as Queens Of The Stone Age or The Black Keys, and even some early ’80s vibes. During the first rehearsal, Gert came up with the powerful shuffle beat. A couple of months later, at the studio, Patrick added the ominous slide intro. The lyrics are quite dark but thanks to Fabian’s subtle harmonica lines blending with Patrick’s lead vocals and Jan’s backing vocals, the chorus turned out pretty catchy. As a final touch, our producer asked Gert to add rototoms, which gives the song a very percussive feel.”
